51% group revenue growth for Liverpool and Birmingham based civil and structural engineering consultancy
The Alan Johnston Partnership (AJP) has reported group turnover of £7m for its most recent financial year, up from £4.66m, a 51% increase year-on-year. Group profits more than doubled over the same period.
AJP, a B Corp certified civil, structural and geotechnical engineering consultancy, now employs 62 people across its Liverpool and Birmingham offices. During the year, the firm secured framework appointments with Regenda, Rise and JV North, while also bringing geotechnical investigation in-house — a move that broadened its service offer and strengthened group revenue. The year saw AJP appointed on major healthcare schemes across the Midlands and North, achieve Gateway 2 approvals on three high-rise residential developments, and take engineering roles on significant town centre regeneration projects across the North West. Framework positions in housing and regeneration provide a forward pipeline heading into the new financial year.
AJP also completed the first full year of AJP Engine, a free virtual work experience programme developed following the firm’s B Corp certification. Built and delivered by AJP’s own engineers, the programme gives students a practical introduction to civil and structural engineering through seven online modules, helping schools introduce young people to the profession at no cost. It reached 1,228 students in its first year, with plans to extend its reach in 2026.
