PositionHost & Marketing for Permit Room Liverpool

What do you actually do day-to-day?

Day to day I’m lucky enough to be doing a real mixture of jobs! As host I am the first face you’ll see when entering our lovely new Permit Room site. I will ensure that we have all tables ready and assigned for our incoming bookings, making sure any extra booking notes are catered to and occasions are celebrated Dishoom style! As we always have space for any walk-ins, it is my job to accommodate everyone coming our way, greeting and guiding our guests to their tables and making sure they have a great experience with us. For my marketing role, I am the site go-to for all things Liverpool, currently planning & running lots of exciting collaborations and popups with local businesses, as well as building strong local relationships with all our neighbours from walkarounds and visits with our Permit Room gifts!

What experiences or influences guided you toward your current profession?

Having always worked in hospitality, I’ve always enjoyed and thrived from working in a fast paced people facing service environment and love facing new challenges each day. From my previous employment, making my way up from a server to a manager I loved the challenges I faced and new opportunities that they gave me along my journey. After almost 7 years it was time for a change for me, and knowing I could deliver a high standard as a host I wanted to take on a new challenge and develop my skills further in a new role by getting involved in the local marketing for an exciting new opening with Dishoom Permit Room.

What’s the best advice you have ever received?

To always go with your gut instincts, don’t live with regrets and leave room for chances in life, some of the best moments happen by accident.

What does leadership mean to you?

Leadership to me means leading by example, setting a high standard for the team that you work with and creating an environment where everyone can do their job to a high standard, stress free but also have a good time whilst doing it! Leadership to me means being able to multi-task to a strong ability because you never know what might crop up as the day goes on, stepping up and showing a strong work ethic but being a go to for all staff members and building that rapport so your team know you have their back.

What has been your favourite Professional Liverpool event and why? / If you are a new member, which event are you most looking forward to attending and why?

As a new member I have not yet been to any events, however I cannot wait to attend the next social, to meet lots of new faces and for everyone to give me all the tips and knowledge branching in to the marketing/business side of Liverpool.

What’s your favourite TV programme?

Suits

How do you relax?

For me, I relax by listening to music. As someone that’s grown up listening to a wide range of genres I can switch off by watching and listening to modern djs from festivals but also love a classic 80’s hits playlist!

Which do you prefer: sweets or chocolate? And what is your favourite?

Has to be sweets for me! Any and all are my favourite, but at the moment Percy Pigs are the top favourite.

Pub or club?

Pub at the moment, I enjoy the more chilled catch up environment of a pub, either a Guinness or white wine depending on the day has to be the goto drink of choice.

Do you have any hobbies?

A coffee and park walk catch up with friends is the closest to a hobby at the a way of getting the steps in but having a gossip is always the best.
