The event took place on 10 September at Anfield Stadium, welcoming over 300 guests from across the region. Now a much-anticipated fixture in the city’s calendar, the lunch celebrates the achievements of women in sport while raising vital funds for local charities.
Guests heard powerful and inspiring talks from Marina Dalglish MBE and Lauren Dalglish, who shared personal stories about the charity’s mission to support cancer patients and their families across Merseyside. Marina, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, founded the charity in 2005 to give back to the medical teams who helped in her recovery.
Attendees also enjoyed an engaging talk from professional footballer Gemma Bonner, who spoke about the rise of women’s football and the importance of encouraging young women to pursue careers in sport.
Clare Brookfield, Liverpool Sportswoman’s Lunch founder said:

It’s a privilege to host an event that not only celebrates women in sport but also raises vital funds for amazing causes.
