What do you actually do day-to-day?
My role ultimately is to develop and manage relationships with financial advisers across NW and support the BM investment managers in driving growth across the region.
Have you ever had a mentor? If so, who?
Phil Penrose who is head of the BM Isle of Man office – he used to do my job before moving to the IoM. He’s had a fascinating career to date, particularly in distribution and has been such a key support to me since the day I was lucky enough to meet him. His guidance and kindness has meant a great deal to me.
Does money motivate you?
Yes in the sense that it is used to spend quality time doing things with the people you love but it’s not the only driver when it comes to my career progression.
What has been the most important event in your working life?
Being a Co-Founder of Female Folio at Brooks Macdonald which is an initiative that was established to educate and empower women to start investing.

What does leadership mean to you?
Leadership is about inspiring others but ultimately they should always be looking at how they can foster an environment to make their teams lives easier in work – commitment to health and wellbeing, trust and a clear and concise strategy that they’re willing to receive feedback on are key.
