Broadcasting from Liverpool, independent commercial radio station Zest is celebrating as it moves into its 5th year on-air.

A spokesperson at the station said: “Saturday 17 April marks a very special time for Zest”.

“We are very proud to continue to reflect our area. The radio landscape has changed so much with former local stations now networking nationally. Coronavirus has brought problems for all businesses, our team have risen to the challenges and in the past year we’ve supported many local charities and continued to entertain an ever-growing audience”.

“On the day celebrations will be paused at 3 O’clock with silence to honour HRH Prince Philip, we’ll again be making use of technology by showing a visual tribute to Prince Philip on DAB screens, our apps, Radioplayer and our website. The visual tribute will run until 4pm”.

“We’d like to thank our listeners and commercial partners for their continued support and we are totally committed to making our 5th year on-air our best yet.”

Zest can be heard on digital radio, via many apps and at zestliverpool.com
