How do we create world class housing for an ageing population? Sometimes a disruptor is needed to transform opinion, change attitudes, and for society to truly embrace innovation. Has the COVID-19 pandemic been the disruptor needed to change the way we look at housing our ageing population?

Our round table discussion explores why a one size fits all approach doesn’t work and why there is a drastic need for more choice. What can we learn from our European neighbours’ innovation and approach to housing and the impact of technology on how we support our aging population allowing them to remain in their own homes. What needs to change and what could post pandemic communities look like?

In May 2020, 6 weeks after the Prime Minister announced the country was in lockdown, Paddock Johnson Partnership invited a number of specialists in the field to join a virtual round table discussion, to openly share their thoughts on what is and isn’t working with the current models for elderly accommodation and how things might change in light of the current pandemic.
