Kickstart – A cost effective opportunity to drive positive change

Professional Liverpool, in partnership with the Learning Foundry and City of Liverpool College, invite you to find out more about the new Government Kickstart Scheme, and the benefits it can bring to both your business, and the next generation of workers.

We'll be hearing fromJoanne Abraham, Managing Director of the Learning Foundry and David Matthews, Workforce Development Manager for CoLC, on the unseen impact of Covid-19 on youth employment, the future effect on this for local businesses and what support and financial help there is available for employers to help bridge this gap to ensure we build back stronger than ever.

Here's the technical stuff:

The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment. Employers of all sizes can apply for funding which covers:

• 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months
• associated employer National Insurance contributions
• employer minimum automatic enrolment contribution
