What do you actually do day-to-day?
I speak with businesses that are experiencing cashflow issues, are looking to grow or are looking to buy assets etc and help them find the funding solutions to achieve their goals.
What experiences or influences guided you toward your current profession?
I actually fell into the world of commercial finance quite unexpectedly. After working in pubs and clubs in my younger years, I initially worked in the cotton industry, where I was involved in helping the company with its banking and funding requirements. That gave me my first real insight into how finance could support a business.
I then moved into the import business, bringing in camping equipment, and noticed that many of my buyers were constantly looking for cashflow to support their businesses. That really opened my eyes to the world of commercial finance, and I quickly became fascinated by it.
I realised I could use my experience of working with businesses to help them access the funding they needed to grow and operate successfully. So, around 13 years ago, I made the decision to change my profession and focus entirely on funding for businesses.
I haven’t looked back since. It’s been a really rewarding journey, particularly being able to understand the challenges businesses face and help find the funding solutions for them.
What’s the best advice you have ever received?
Be honest and KEEP GOING!!!
What does leadership mean to you?
Leaders are also part of the team, so act like it!
What has been your favourite Professional Liverpool event and why?
I enjoy the relaxed networking events, but if I had to choose, the lunch we had at Dishoom was unbelievable!

Snowfall – BBC
How do you relax?
Relax? What’s that? I have a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old, so I don’t get much time to relax! Haha!
Which do you prefer: sweets or chocolate? And what’s your favourite?
Sweets… Fizzy Cherries all day!

No question… pub!
Do you have any hobbies?
I love to cook, and I love a trip to Disney!

You really don’t want to hear me sing!
