Two Minutes With… Frank Rogers!

Name: Frank Rogers

Company:  Frank Rogers Law

Position: Director

What do you actually do day-to-day? Advise clients in relation to prosecutions for driving offences and represent them in courts across England & Wales: cases pending locally but also in Coventry, High Wycombe, Guildford, Bradford & Carlisle.

Have you ever had a mentor? If so, who?  During my training my main mentor was the late Terence Harvey, when I was a Partner or Director in other firms colleagues were always on hand to advise and then I did a Coaching Course in 2016 with the legend that was John Haynes – that was transformational.

Does money motivate you? To the extent that it helps provide for the needs of my wife now and in the future yes it does, but I am fortunate in doing work I love and enjoy. The work & my wife is my main motivation.

What has been the most important event in your working life?  In recent years setting up my own niche law firm dealing only with driving offence work. Liberating, exhilarating and the work is hugely satisfying.

Who do you most admire?  Apart from my wife, T E Lawrence – his book “Seven Pillars of Wisdom” would be my Desert Island book.

What does leadership mean to you? Setting standards and creating a culture that reflects who you are and what you believe in. Getting the team to buy into that by open discussion and then supporting them and helping them develop personally and professionally. A gentle touch works far better than a dictatorial one.

What’s your favourite TV programme?  Not really got one but my favourite films include The Godfather & Casablanca.

How do you relax?  Reading, cooking, going to restaurants, watching box sets on TV.

Fry up or healthy smoothie? These days probably the smoothie.

Pub or club? Pub – my clubbing days are well in the past!

Gym or countryside walk?  Peloton & the countryside!

Favourite piece of music?  Classically anything by Puccini – otherwise I have always been a fan of The Rolling Stones.

Flannels or Florence & Fred?  Had to do research to understand the question which is probably my answer, but my height means all my business suits and shirts are made to measure. Otherwise for leisure wear I like Crew Clothing & Joules.

Birkdale or Birkenhead?  Neither – Ludlow is my UK haven of peace, good food and good company.
