A leading property consultancy in Liverpool has grown its team, as an expert at the firm describes there being ‘cautious optimism’ in the Merseyside and North West markets.

Fisher German’s Liverpool office, previously trading as Matthews & Goodman, has appointed three members of staff to its business rates team as it supports clients with new legislation which has changed the way that business rates are calculated from April 2023.

It has also appointed new members of staff to both the valuation and property management teams.

As a result of the merger with Matthews & Goodman, its multi-disciplined team now has more than 800 proven property professionals, providing a national service from a network of 28 offices nationwide.

It has seen the Liverpool office secure new clients and new instructions as a result of referrals from within the new company and enables access to specialist services which the respective companies did not provide.

The office, together with the former Matthews and Goodman Manchester office, join Fisher German’s Chester and Knutsford sites to form one of the largest providers of multi-disciplinary property services in the North West.

Phil Winckles, of Fisher German, said: “We are extremely pleased to expand our team in Liverpool to further strengthen our North West offering. The merger has already proved great news for both Matthews & Goodman’s and Fisher German’s clients because they now have direct access to specialists across the commercial, residential, and rural property sectors.

“A key area of growth is currently our business rates team, which operates nationally and is advising clients on the new non-domestic rating list taking effect from April 2023.

“Within the current economic climate, businesses must ensure that they are paying the appropriate amount and our team is helping to secure substantial savings for a number of businesses.

“There is currently cautious optimism in the Liverpool and wider north west market, and the merger between Matthews & Goodman and Fisher German has already benefitted us in Liverpool as we can offer clients a comprehensive range of services, providing us with enhanced collaborative opportunities.

“The merger gives Fisher German a presence in major cities and the benefit of our years of expertise in commercial property transactions, building consultancy and valuation services.

“In turn, Fisher German’s superb knowledge in planning and development, sustainability, telecoms and agriculture complements our services brilliantly.

“Across Liverpool, Manchester, Chester and Knutsford, we form a quadrant of offices which combine strong local knowledge with a national capability, providing first-class advice in the world of chartered surveying.

“We look forward to continuing our work together in the North West and across the whole of our office network to benefit both the business and our clients.”
