LJMU Unveils Newest Chief Executive

Professional Liverpool member LJMU have recently revealed their new Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive


Mark Power, a former registrar and acting vice-chancellor was confirmed in the role by the chair of the university’s board Mike Parker following an extensive process to determine the future leadership of the university.

Educated at Prescot Grammar School, Mr Power holds a BA in fine art, and a MBA from LJMU. He has held significant roles at every level within the university during his career with and has become a specialist in higher education management.


Most recently he has been registrar and chief operating officer and led the university’s response to the pandemic. He works closely with the student union, JMSU, and is an advocate for the university’s health and wellbeing, EDI and social mobility agendas.
