The Managing Director of one of Liverpool’s oldest PR and marketing communications agencies is predicting a bumper second half of 2021.

“We’ve just had our most profitable first quarter in all our 30 years in business, and the signs across the board seem to indicate that confidence – and spending – are generally coming back very strongly”, said Rosie Kenyon.

Kenyons, which she has led since 2019, saw revenue drop dramatically overnight last March, as many clients cut budgets or stopped spend entirely in response to the pandemic.

“I think most people thought the road to recovery would be longer, but we – and others in the creative sector – have seen a lot of optimism and activity in the market already this year”, said Rosie. “Indications are that this will carry on, with further lifting of restrictions in June helping to fuel activity.

Existing clients have started spending again, and we’ve won interesting new work across the country, in sectors ranging from travel to social care, so it’s not just coming from one or two areas of the economy.”

The bounce-back has also seen new recruits joining the agency, with Charlotte Price as Creative PR Executive and Elliot Ramsey as Creative PR Manager.

Charlotte arrives at Kenyons after graduating with a master’s in public relations in 2020 and working as part of a PR team in the North East, while Elliot joins the team after several years working in marketing and account management roles, both in-house and in agencies.

Rosie added: “Last year was a real test for us and many other firms in this sector. We got through it thanks to some strong clients in resilient sectors, and an absolutely brilliant team – no bias at all, of course.

“My focus now is on continuing to produce excellent work for our clients, growing key areas of the business, and getting these great financial results over a longer-term period. I want to be celebrating this sort of growth in 2022 and beyond.”
