The Cannes Do 2020 is postponed - COVID-19 Update

Mon 16 March 2020

Please see the announcement below, regarding the 2020 Cannes Do.

In short, the event has been cancelled in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, and the projected position that the British Government is expected to take in due course.

Please read the statement below, from our CEO John Hall, and feel free to get in touch with the team if you have any questions:

"Good morning,

As you will imagine, we have been considering the position relating to this year’s Cannes Do lunch on a day by day basis.

Given the escalation of Covid-19 and the likelihood that the Government will fall in line with most other countries and ban such gatherings, we have taken the view in the interests of our members and staff that it is appropriate to postpone Friday’s lunch. Hopefully we will be in a position to hold it later this year.

We are liaising with the staff at St George’s Hall and the caterers to try and salvage as much as possible from this unfortunate, exceptional situation. It may be, that if food is likely to go to waste that we will donate to a foodbank or similar charity, to assist those struggling most in these difficult times.

At the moment until matters are clarified, we cannot offer any refunds and I would ask you, if you have not already paid, to do so as we have paid all the outgoings that were required to stage this event.

Obviously, this is unfortunate, but I hope you will understand and support PL’s decision and approach in these extraordinary times.

Best wishes.

John Hall
