Hosted by National Museums Liverpool is celebrating a record start to the year as its corporate and hospitality events business continues to grow, with revenue from January bookings up by 266% compared to 2019’s figures.

The first quarter for National Museums Liverpool’s events team is set to continue to soar with March already showing a 454% increase in revenue.

Head of Events at Hosted by National Museums Liverpool, Katie Roberts, said: “Since Hosted by National Museums Liverpool underwent a rebrand in 2018, we have enjoyed continued success as our division establishes itself as a private hire and events business in its own right. We’re attracting high-profile, international clients who have chosen to host their event with us based on our exceptional service and expertise, as well as our incredible food offer.

“In addition to growing revenue, we’re delighted to report an increase in repeat bookings for the first quarter of 2020, with January’s figures showing a healthy conversion rate of almost 60% based on all enquiries. Nearly half of our bookings from January through to March 2020 have come from previous clients, with the remainder from new clients and referrals. Already this year, we have hosted elements of Liverpool’s Visitor Economy Week and are set to welcome a number of public and private sector conferences in the coming months, as well as awards ceremonies. One of our biggest areas of growth, however, has been with location filming, where revenue has increased by 249%.”

The events division at National Museums Liverpool has recently expanded to accommodate increasing demand from corporate clients across the UK, hiring seven new recruits over the last 12 months. The team, led by Head of Events Katie Roberts, has welcomed Events Sales Manager Nina Valvi, Events Sales Executives Hannah Parr and Gareth Nuttall, Events Sales Administrator Laurie Cannon, Events Duty Manager Rebecca O’Neill, and Events Team Leaders Joel Louden and Nicole Park.

National Museums Liverpool is the largest cultural organisation in the North West, offering corporate and private events in venues located across the Liverpool City Region. With capacities of up to 1,000 guests, museums and galleries within the organisation’s portfolio offer iconic settings ideal for every occasion, from dinners, conferences and drinks receptions to Christmas parties, weddings and location filming. All profits generated from these events goes directly back into National Museums Liverpool to support its work.

Katie added: “We’re attracting some of the region’s best talent and we’re delighted to see our team grow with our newest recruits bringing invaluable skills to the team. This will enable us to move the business forward in 2020 and beyond, placing us as a leading events destination not just in the North West but in the UK.

“Our team is the driving force behind securing new and repeat clients, so it’s important that our hires are among the best in the field and share our enthusiasm for making sure that Liverpool is firmly on the map as a top destination for business tourism. Liverpool’s business economy has been thriving for the last decade and we are experiencing a huge level of growth in line with this.”
