Launched in 2019, Activate worked with partners to deliver a call for nominations of the fastest growing and most innovative tech businesses in the city region to join the inaugural LCR Tech Climbers List. An expert panel – consisting of local tech investors, local government and academic institutions – judged the submissions and the results were launched on the Business Cloud website. This was a showcase of the 35 most truly innovative tech scale-ups from the Liverpool City Region.

Tech Climbers 2021 will see the return of the list featuring regional scale-up businesses doing great things despite the challenges of 2020. We’ll be highlighting their stories and looking at what it is about the Liverpool City Region that nurtures great digital and tech-based ideas into viable scale-up enterprises.

Celebrating the success of local businesses is important and lays the foundation for attracting investment and talent to our region. It also supports in inspiring the next generation of businesses to see what success looks like and what can be harnessed in the region to attain that success.
