70:30 - An overview….

70:30 is a concept developed by SAS-Fit Ltd to be used as part of a bespoke treatment plan, a group workshop, or as a stand-alone therapy session, to address work and home related stress and high levels of anxiety. The principals of 70:30 are to provide an understanding of stress and anxiety and to give coping strategies to maximise employee confidence and performance.

In short, following a 70:30 treatment, an employee would be able to focus on giving 70% of quality time to their work and 30% focusing on themselves and their own wellbeing, taking regular relaxation breaks, concentrating on breathing, eating healthy and regular, drinking plenty of water, exercising, stretching when needed, stepping away from their desk, taking a short break outdoors.

Similarly, when at home, they would focus 70% of their quality time on family and friends, whilst 30% of their time would be to relax and enjoy their own personal pastimes, hobbies and activities.

Bespoke Treatment Plan: Employees, referred to SAS, with complex mental health problems are often given 70:30 as part of their treatment plan, since many conditions are adversely affected by or caused by stress and anxiety. This simple technique, can accelerate recovery from most mental health disorders.

Group Workshop: Groups of employees can attend a workshop designed to give them an understanding of stress and anxiety (work or home related) and give them coping strategies to build resilience and improve performance. The workshop will be delivered by an SAS therapist with specialist knowledge and experience in the treatment of stress and anxiety. The outcome of the therapy will be that each employee understands their own stressors and the resulting symptoms. They will be empowered with coping strategies, to be able to assess any potentially stressful situation, focussing on performing at an optimum level, whilst remaining calm and composed and fully professional. Following the workshop, each employee will be provided with written and audio self-help exercises, that they can use to reinforce the techniques and knowledge they have learned and continue to develop positive habits, so that their levels of performance are maximised, whilst they maintain control over their levels of stress and anxiety.

Stand-alone therapy session: Each employee referred, will be given a 90-minute appointment, including consultation, to identify the employee’s signs, symptoms and stressors, followed by a bespoke treatment session to address the findings in the consultation. Treatment will be delivered by an SAS therapist, using our unique Functional Integrated Therapy*, that allows each therapy session to be bespoke to the employee being treated and using all appropriate therapies in the learning style of the employee. The outcome of the therapy will be that each employee understands their own stressors and the resulting symptoms. They will be empowered with their own coping strategies, to be able to assess any potentially stressful situation, focussing on performing at an optimum level, whilst remaining calm and composed and fully professional in the despatch of their duties. Following the therapy session, each employee will be provided with written and audio self-help exercises, that they can use in the future to reinforce the therapy and continue to develop positive habits, so that their levels of performance are maximised, whilst they maintain control over their levels of stress and anxiety.
