Rutherford Cancer Centres
The Rutherford Cancer Centres are at the forefront of providing innovative cancer care across the UK and internationally. With a commitment to excellence, our centres offer world-class proton beam therapy, along with traditional services, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and holistic therapy.
Treatment at the Rutherford Cancer Centres is available to medically-insured private patients, self-paying patients and patients referred by the NHS.
Our South Wales centre has already opened and is the first in the UK to offer high energy proton beam therapy. Our North East Centre is now open for radiotherapy and systemic anti-cancer therapies.
Centres in Reading and Liverpool are also under development.

Rutherford Diagnostics are focussed on securing the best possible outcomes for patients and will provide state of the art medical diagnostics in purpose-built centres.
Utilising the very latest medical imaging technology, Rutherford Diagnostics aims to detect disease at the earliest opportunity, making it simpler, better tolerated treatments and improving outcomes.
Rutherford Diagnostics also plan to develop a large-scale genomics laboratory, meaning that in the future, they aim to predict disease susceptibility, offer advice to reduce exposure and support new screening techniques to detect disease before patients come to significant harm.
Rutherford Diagnostics, will create a seamless pathway for our patients from screening for
disease, to diagnosis and from treatment onto disease surveillance.
Rutherford Innovations leads the research and development activities for Proton Partners and its subsidiaries and looks for innovative technologies and research to improve outcomes for cancer patients.
Led by the Chief Scientific Officer, Dr Ian Barwick, Rutherford Innovations develops
partnerships and collaborations with researchers and clinicians with the aim to confirm Proton Beam Therapy as an accepted and cost-effective way to treat cancer alongside surgery, chemotherapy, conventional radiotherapy (X-rays) and immunotherapy.
Rutherford Innovations is currently in discussion with a number of researchers about providing access to proton beam time for research projects and would be pleased to discuss this facility with other research groups.
