Member: Torus

A dynamic growth and regeneration group with a strong social purpose, Torus works in partnership with Liverpool City Region and the North West region to fuel the delivery of new affordable homes and create thriving, vibrant communities.

We are committed to developing over 5,300 new homes over the next five years, working as a key provider for local authorities and in partnership with the region’s key stakeholders to regenerate communities and support wider inclusive growth.

Torus activities and strategic partnerships play a key role in social and economic development across the North West. Our capital investment programme is creating quality housing solutions and choice for people needing homes - and building on a current group asset value of £849m. We invest over £100m every year in existing and new housing, as part of a total annual group supply chain spend of around £225m. Overall, the group will spend £2.5 billion in the regional economy over the next 10 years.

Torus is already one of the region’s largest Housing Providers. We have 1,500 staff, manage around 40,000 homes and serve 75,000 customers. 100% of the profits generated by group members Torus Developments and commercial contractor HMS are reinvested into our charitable arm Torus Foundation, a community anchor institution, to fund projects that build social capital and fulfill our vision of ‘growing stronger communities’.

Torus operates as a lead strategic partner for Liverpool, St Helens and Warrington Councils, and for the Government’s housing accelerator Homes England.
