"If we can’t live together, we’re going to die alone.”
Do you recognise the quote? It was a statement made by Dr Jack Shephard in the long running TV series, Lost.
Lost was an American drama television series that followed the survivors of a commercial jet airliner flying between Sydney and Los Angeles, after the plane crashes on a mysterious island somewhere in the South Pacific Ocean.
After the crash, Dr. Jack Shephard became the leader due to his skills and strengths. In one of his most inspiring speeches, he gave it to the survivors straight:
“If we can’t live together, we’re going to die alone.”
With polar bears, The Smoke Monster, natural elements, The Others, and so on, this group definitely needed to band together and stay together, if they all wanted to make it.
Stories likes this are just one way we can make sense of what is going on around us.
In our country, the unthinkable has happened, the “plane has crashed”, so what now?
