The role of community based social prescribing in mental health

Imagine Independence is trialling a new, social prescribing based approach to supporting Merseyside residents whose mental health has been most affected by the Coronavirus pandemic through its Building Up Stronger project.

Building Up Stronger will work with people who have found their mental wellbeing affected by COVID-19. It will support them to access community opportunities, reduce isolation, develop and enhance their digital skills and build resilience to cope with ongoing lockdown restrictions and face the post pandemic world.

This discussion will share more about Imagine's social prescribing approach to delivering support through BUS. Speakers include:

Margaret Hanson, Chief Executive of Imagine Independence, who will discuss the role of social prescribing in delivering BUS and provide an overview of the model and approach developed.

Jennifer Neff, Co-founder and CEO of Elemental Software, who will share more about Elemental's digital social prescribing platform, the role that digital can play in supporting initiatives like BUS.

Michael Crilly, Director of Social Inclusion and Participation at Merseycare, who will share Merseycare's social prescribing approach and the difference that this is making through its Life Rooms centres across Merseyside.
