LCR HEALTH AWARENESS CAMPAIGN - STAKEHOLDER SESSION

On 18th April 2020 Professional Liverpool, Liverpool City Council, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Rutherford Liverpool will facilitate a major strategic healthcare event aimed at raising health awareness and improving outcomes for the population we serve.

This initiative will serve to demonstrate that the health of our city region is a responsibility that lies with us all. As such it will bring together all parties with an interest in improving the health and lifestyle of our population and will provide a snapshot of the health of our region on one day. The initiative is strongly supported by both the Metro Mayor of Liverpool City Region, Steve Rotherham and Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson OBE and will take place at the iconic St George’s Hall, Liverpool. The target audience will be the citizens of our city region.

Liverpool has some of the worst health outcomes in the country. Together, we aim to provide a positive, engaging and informative environment which will inspire the people of our city region to think differently about their health and through early detection and awareness initiate lifestyle changes that will make a real difference to the quality of their lives.

The emphasis of the day will be to educate and advise as well as to provide the opportunity for simple screening to take place to identify those members of our population who are at risk. We seek to do this in a fun and informative way. As well as screening and education we want to include simple health checks, nutritional advice and advice on accessing sport and improving fitness.

An event of this nature works best with the full and active participation of all who are charged with improving health in our city region. The aim is to provide a vehicle which will offer stakeholders an opportunity to access a wide section of the population and address the real challenges that face us all.

In order to exploit this opportunity you are invited to a workshop, chaired by Mike Gibney, Director of Workforce and Innovation at the Walton Centre, at 2.00pm on Monday 9th September 2019 at the offices of Hill Dickinson, No. 1 St Paul’s Square, Liverpool L3 9SJ to hear more about what is proposed and to provide input on how best to deliver the initiative. With the collective effort of all participants a formidable marketing machine can be mobilised to ensure the people of our city region are aware of the event and encourage maximum participation.

We look forward to working with you on this strategic city region wide event and would be grateful if you could ensure your organisation is represented at the workshop as detailed above. Once you have nominated such an individual, we will issue further details regarding the conduct of the workshop.
