Forget the usual team away day, this September, we’re inviting businesses from across the Liverpool City Region to take to the water for the Cash for Kids Dragon Boat Race in support of Mission Christmas.
Taking place on the afternoon of Friday 18th September at Liverpool Watersports Centre, it’s a chance to enjoy a little friendly competition, meet other local businesses and raise money for a cause that will make a real difference this Christmas.
There’s no entry fee. Instead, we simply ask each team to put their energy into fundraising before race day. Every pound raised helps Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas appeal buy Christmas presents for local children living in poverty or facing difficult circumstances, ensuring more children in our community wake up to a gift on Christmas morning.
Thanks to the appeal’s buying power, funds raised go even further, with gifts purchased at wholesale prices. This year, there’ll be a particular focus on babies and teenagers – the age groups that traditionally receive the fewest donations.
Whether you bring a full crew from your workplace or join forces with clients, suppliers or neighbouring businesses, everyone is welcome. You don’t need any dragon boat experience – just a team that’s ready to have some fun and get behind a fantastic cause.
There’ll be plenty of laughs, food and refreshments and, of course, a trophy waiting for the winning crew. But whichever boat crosses the finish line first, every team will have helped make Christmas brighter for local children who need it most.
